A message from HOPE
Marked by many milestones & inspiring stories, 2024 has been one of HOPE’s most remarkable years yet.
Together, we celebrated 20 years of serving children who are deaf and hard of hearing and the impact we’ve made as a community.
As we remain the only program in eastern Washington offering listening and spoken language services from birth through preschool, we’re proud to continue to expand our specialized services each year.
We are incredibly grateful to our donors, sponsors, and volunteers for your dedicated support. Thanks to you, our Hoedown for HOPE 2024—our biggest fundraiser of the year—was a tremendous success, raising $250,000!
These funds allow us to continue providing life-changing intervention that teaches deaf and hard-of-hearing children how to listen, speak, and thrive.
Your generosity makes this work possible, and we couldn’t do it without you. Thank you for believing in HOPE and for changing lives, one child at a time.
As our team prepares for next year, we’re filled with energy and excitement for all that is to come. Our goal this year is to make MORE miracles happen. So stay tuned for upcoming events in 2025.
Meaningful Moments from 2024
Take a look at some of many meaningful moments we shared this year during school, parent nights, and several community events.
Partnered with local businesses who had their team take time out of their day to spend some quality time at Spokane HOPE, bringing new life to the playground.
From Valentine’s Day presents to writing cards and making friendship bracelets, the HOPE students are learning to show appreciation and love to those around them.
Caitlin McCaslin, M.S., CCC-SLP and program director, earned the prestigious Listening and Spoken Language National Certification, becoming the only certified Auditory Verbal Therapist in eastern Washington.
We collaborated with undergraduate students from Washington State University and Eastern Washington University, who volunteered in our classrooms, bringing fresh energy and expertise to our preschool programs.
Sponsored by the Hagen Family Foundation, HOPE staff attended the EHDI conference to learn about new research & skills to best serve deaf and hard-of-hearing children and their families.
Our preschoolers had a spooktacular Halloween filled with language opportunities by talking about their costumes & trick-or-treating around the school.
Spokane HOPE proudly celebrated our 20th anniversary of serving children with hearing loss, bringing together everyone who has been part of this incredible journey and made a lasting impact over the years.
Thanks to the Spokane Fire Department 7, our preschool students had a blast seeing the fire station and learning new words, such as “firefighter,” “siren,” and “fire extinguisher!”
Our Annual Santa Breakfast was filled with donuts, holiday songs, and plenty of Christmas cheer as our alumni and current preschoolers came together to celebrate.
