Melissa is HOPE’s preschool and prekindergarten teacher. She holds a Masters degree in Deaf Education from Central Mississippi University and a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. She provides a unique understanding of hearing loss as she is profoundly deaf, wears cochlear implants, and like the children at HOPE, was raised oral. Melissa reminds parents of children who are deaf or have hearing loss that she never let her hearing devices hold her back from exploring life. She has always been very active, involved in sports and loves the outdoors.
