Looking for trusted deaf education resources and a supportive community that truly understands your journey?
Spokane HOPE’s quarterly Parent Nights offer a safe, welcoming space to connect with other parents and families, learn from experts, and gain the confidence to advocate for your child’s needs.
If you’re interested in joining our Parent Nights, reach out to our Program Director, Caitlin McCaslin, to find out about available dates.
By bringing families together, Parent Nights foster parent-to-parent connections and provide powerful resources and support for raising children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Share real-life wins and challenges with parents of toddlers, teens, and everyone in between—because no one should navigate hearing differences alone.
While enjoying a meal with other families, learn about educational resources, hear from deaf and hard of hearing experts, and ask questions to young adults who have grown up deaf or hard of hearing; gaining insights and strategies to support your child’s listening, language, and learning journey.
While you learn from other families and professionals about supporting your child’s deaf or hard-of-hearing needs, we provide free childcare where your child can enjoy games, crafts, and quality time with our trained Listening and Spoken Language staff.
“When I received my son's hearing loss diagnosis, my husband and I were stunned, terrified, and felt overwhelmed about our son's future.
Thankfully, our son's audiologist kindly referred Spokane HOPE to us and from the moment I navigated through their website, received guidance/personally tailored speech therapy lessons, and connected with other parents...our fears disappeared and as this nonprofit is aptly named, we felt lightness and HOPE.
Every single administrator, teacher, volunteer is passionate about the kids they service.. They're unbelievably kind, energetic, enthusiastic, and talented. My son is meeting all his developmental milestones; speaking, communicating, thriving. Sonny also received support from another speech therapy program but nothing compares to what Spokane HOPE does for children who are born deaf and hard of hearing. In addition, Spokane HOPE provides parents the tools and support to help us navigate hearing aid/cochlear implant technical issues, advocate for our kids to get proper accommodations at school, and connects us to other parents who know exactly what your family is going through.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that Spokane HOPE has changed the trajectory of my son's life for the better.”
Jihyun N, parent of son with hearing loss
